The Question: If youre looking for a good summer read, then I suggest __________ because _________. (Editors Note: If you choose to purchase any of these books, please click on our Amazon Home Page link first!) The Answer: I suggest the Bible because it holds great truths. The Answer: Falling In Love With Jesus because it exemplifies how to love the Greatest Lover. The Answer: King of Torts by John Grisham because it's fast, easy reading that is entertaining. The Answer: Gone with the Wind! It will send you on an emotional journey, and you never even have to go on vacation! The Answer: Zorro by Isabel Allende because in spite of being a translation, the novel is well written. It captivates the reader and never wastes words. The Answer: Man's Search For Meaning by Victor Frankl because it is way too heavy to read on a cold day. But do turn the A/C down low to get the optimum effect. I also listened to the audio book. The Answer: Infiltrationit's about how radical Muslims are trying to get into Washington and compromise our national security. The Answer: A Palm and a Willow because it is very uplifting and it will strengthen your faith in God. The Answer: The Time Traveler's Wife. Though it is a secular read, and I think there might be some PG-13 parts, it is incredible! I was absolutely spellbound. I read it on the way back from a book conference and I finished it in one day (there, it's official, I am a geek). The Answer: If youre looking for a good summer read, then I suggest Sources of Strength by former President Jimmy Carter because he has a few solid spiritual insights, plus it is an opportunity to learn more about the faith of one of our former presidents. The Answer: The Bible in summer, spring, fall and winter! The Answer: The Bureau by William Sullivan because it shows just how corrupt the government of the good ol' USA can get if we blindly trust what Washington says. (Plus, Sullivan was assassinated for writing the book.) The Answer: Christianity without the Cross by Thomas Fudge. It is a history of salvation in Oneness Pentecostalism. This book has increased my faith in Christ beyond what I thought possible by reading a book. Reading about the things that went on during the 1992 General Conference to get the Westberg resolution (yearly ministerial signing of reaffirmation of faith) passed on the floor is a most interesting part of our history. One of most thoroughly researched books on any major religion I have ever read.
