Youth Congress 2007 Preview: Jonathan Walker

By the Staff of ninetyandnine.com

July 23, 2007

Jonathan Walker will be speaking at a Senior High breakout session at the UPCI’s North American Youth Congress in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is a Youth/Student Pastor at The Calvary Church in Cincinnati, OH.

Not to diminish the creativity of any of the other speakers, but ninetyandnine.com has learned that Walker’s session may set the standard for surprising-but-informative visuals this year. All we’ll say is, bring your cameras.

He answered our questions on July 11, 2007.

---------

90&9: What’s the first NAYC you attended and what do you remember?

JW: Little Rock, Arkansas - My parents were both speaking at the event.  I was still quite young so I just remember getting all kinds of free candy and food in a lounge room for the speakers at the hotel where the conference was held.  Free food is so awesome!

90&9: What’s your favorite NAYC memory?

JW: Pastor Anthony Mangun's message in Atlanta, GA about generational anointing and the anointed cloths that were passed out to everyone.  Praying with my students that night, I will never forget.

90&9: What do you see as the biggest challenge for Apostolic youth today?

JW: Learning to live by consistent relationship with Jesus Christ instead of random experiences with Him.  We have to avoid being a generation defined by experiences only, instead of relationship.  Anyone can find fleeting experiences in life, but everyone is looking for meaningful relationships.

90&9: (Excluding the Bible and family), I can’t live without…

JW: Tennis, Taco Bell, Dr. Pepper & Sobes, laughter, my wife's smile, any type of salsa dip, godly advice, pockets and Post-It® notes (in no particular order).

90&9: The last item I downloaded was…
JW: A CNN interview about Health Care in the United States and the Iraq War.
