Baby's Lung Healed by Prayer!
February 25, 2008
By Thomas Suey
On Friday evening, February 15, 2008, little Max Michael
Wehrle was born shortly after 9 p.m. at St. Anthony's in Effingham, IL. His
young parents, Michael and Angelica, were jubilant, as are all young parents at
the arrival of their first baby.
All too soon, the attending physician admonished the parents that baby Max would
need oxygen since there appeared to be complications with his breathing.
Neither parent was allowed to hold Max because of the complications. What a
hurtful experience that was. The doctor further informed the couple that baby
Max could possibly be transferred to St. Louis Children's Hospital.
By Sunday evening, February 17, X-rays revealed a rather large gaping hole in
one of Max's lungs. A second X-ray only served to confirm the first X-ray;
there was indeed a hole in the little boy's lung.
While preparations were made for baby Max to be transferred to St. Louis Sunday
evening, his aunt, Angie Thompson, had come to the Sunday evening service at
South Central Regional Apostolic/Christ Tabernacle. She informed me of the
baby's condition. During the service I felt led to have Angie come to the podium
and explain to the church Max's condition.
Angie had seen the X-ray hanging above Max's head in the hospital nursery, and
she showed us how large the hole was in the babe's lung. We all began to pray
fervently in the Name of Jesus Christ and sent the Word of God to his lungs, "He
sent His word and healed them . . .” (Psalm 107:20).
We continued with the service. Within 10 minutes, Angie Thompson came hurriedly
down the church aisle and motioned for me to come from the pulpit. When I
reached her, she showed me a text from her mother, Max's grandmother: the hole
had just closed up!
Here's how it happened. When the transfer crew of four nurses/doctors arrived
from St. Louis Children's Hospital to transfer baby Max, they asked for another
X-ray. St. Anthony's nurses differed with them saying they had just taken two
X-rays and felt that a third X-ray would be redundant. The St. Louis crew was
adamant. They refused to transfer the baby until there was a third X-ray.
Complying with their wishes, St. Anthony's performed still a third X-ray. Guess
what? No hole in the lung! There was the evidence before all the medical
personnel. Two X-rays showed a gaping hole in the babe's lung while the third
X-ray showed a completely whole lung. You can imagine the rejoicing that
occurred that night.
Baby Max was transferred to St. Louis Children's Hospital for treatments to his
lungs, which were not totally mature upon birth. He is progressing well. Still
no hole!
The Name of Jesus is above every name and the most powerful
Name in the universe!
